This is an update to a review submitted 2009-09-22. Finally I was able to purchase the EA. I sent my acc#. According to the message displayed on the order form, it can take up to 24 hours to receive the EA. So, once I receive it I'll start testing it. It does not say anything about the EA being able to run on demo accounts, but if that´s not the case I'm ready to make alittle investment to try the EA. ... I bought this EA based on the Results shown here. The EA does perform well as long as you are on the right side of the trend. If not you could be in trades for days. The fact that they do not use a SL i find completley crazy especially when you have 5+ trades open with increased Lots size. No matter what backtest you do it will Blow your account. I noticed that they turn the EA off during certain news events ect, So i emailed them and asked if they could provide us with these dates, just to make it allitle easier for all. But the reply i got worried me and they could not provide this information. If they are going to provide these sorts of results and they are going to stop and start the EA when they want, maybe they should be going down the road of managed accounts instead of trying to sell half an EA.

got hold of this when it first came out and had great results so far ,i would never let this or any other EA run 24 hours a day without keeping a eye on its performance ,in a previous comment someone said it blew there margin ,im on alpari uk live account and not had this problem ,maybe it depends on the size of your balance or deposit.

This an update to a review posted originally 2009-09-22, then another one on 2009-09-24.I requested a demo version of the EA and I received it. To get it I opened a demo account with Alpari UK and sent my acct# along with the investor password, so that they can verify that actually it is a demo account. So far account is in profit showin a balance growth very simmilar to the one on FPA grafic on the performance page. I noticed that default settings do not include SL, so I decided to make a backtest for 5 years. The results are that the EA will blow the account on the long run, except when used with risk factor set to 0. With Risk=0 it does make trades and it does not blow the account, but profit is too low (10%-12% per year). Another thing that I noticed is that in some cases trades are kept open for a long time. Backtest shows a set of trades opened for 6 months !!!, so although the balance curve looks quite good, the equity curve might not. I will not request a refund because I like to keep the EAs that I purchase (quite a few now).

That isn't the issue, you half-wit. Your idiotic program kept on adding trades with 50% successive increments in lot size using a Martingale approach until after taking 7 positions, 99% of my account equity was used in trades. Then a drop of a couple of a couple pips put me into a margin call.While it's true it would have eventually come back to a profit, that doesn't do any good when your account is getting liquidated. A Martingale strategy like yours works eventually with infinite supplies of capital.I frankly wish you'd take your condescending tone some place where it's appreciated. I'm trading a combined asset base of $250K and doing it for a living. I use OTHER EAs to do this. When your system put me into a margin call, I liquidated everything for a loss of about $12K. So now I'm trading with $237K. That is a live account with real money.I did some optimizations on your system using "pips" from 1-10 as the variable. Over the past month, this yielded an optimum value of 6 pips. When I ran this over the past 3 months, 6 pips also gave the highest profit factor. But then when I ran with 6 pips from 1/1/09 to present, it blew out the account on 2/20.In short, sir, your system is a piece of garbage. There is nothing that can be done to improve it. No optimization consistently works.I am revising my prior review from 2* to 1* on the basis of rude & unhelpful customer support as exemplified by this individual.2009-09-28 No rating Everyone beware! This is a Martingale strategy. It took larger & larger positions until I was all margined out. And this was on a risk level of 2 (CONSERVATIVE!).At any other broker, I'd be in a margin call, but at MIG you don't have to settle up until weeks end.But beware... This EA is self contradicting. I Am able to see 2 buy position on my account, but on FPA there are 6 sell positions opened. How can they sell an EA like this.I am loosing confidence in this EA. Is there any fundamental involved in this ??

Yes, this EA really does exist. In less than 24 hours, I received everything. As far as manual exits, they make full disclosure of it in their documentation. As far as performance, I really won't know until Sunday afternoon.

Backtesting of this product over a 10 year period always blows up the account. Tried different start dates, with the same results. Very similar results found with Ilan 1.6, which is free. Ilan has a very similar growth curve, but also will always blow up your account. Manual exits would be needed to use this EA. Will be asking for a refund.

Here is a little indicator that might come in handy in your scalping journey. It can be used as a buy indicator or as a sell indicator. When we have 2 candles which has closed and the indicator closed in 2 consecutive green bars, it means the indicator is giving us a buy signal and when 2 candles has closed and the indicator has drawn 2 consecutive red bars for these candles, then it means that the indicator is giving us a sell signal. As you can see in the screenshot above, the piece of code can be used as a buy and sell indicator. However, I suggests you do not use it stand alone and you experiment with it along with other indicators you might like. If you come up with anything useful, do let me know about it. After you download the indicator, place it in the metatrader indicator folder and you will be good to go. Good luck

The 'Catch and Release' Forex Trading Strategy

I would like to introduce you to this very nice trading system which can be used to take advantage of the big trends that occurs every now and then in the forex market. This strategy works great with trending pairs like the majors for example the eurusd, gbpusd or gbpjpy. The aim of this strategy is to wait for a trend to develop itself, then enter the market upon small retracement against the established trend.

The Catch and Release method uses a combination of buy indicators and sell indicator to generate buy and sell signals for the forex market. To be accurate, the system uses 5 indicators which are namely the GMMA SLOW, EMA (20 and 30),Stochastics(9,3,3), RSI(3) and finally the Heiken Ashi. All combined together produce very nice entry signals for the forex market with a high rate of accuracy. I would not go into the details of setting up the charts etc but I will just post the template at the end of this post so that you can just download it and apply to your metatrader platform. Your chart should be ready for you to trade. Now I will write a bit on the buy and sell signals. I will restrict myself to very little words as I have already made very illustrated screenshots of how the system works with trade examples so that you can follow and learn without the hassles of endless reading.

Here are the rules for buy signal as well as 2 trade examples which occured following the fulfillment of these rules. The screenshot explains for itself and I will not be commenting on the rules.

I want to share this very small and easy forex trading method with you. It is so easy that you will be able to master it within minutes. You do not need to place any indicators on your charts. This system is purely based on the price. The only 2 piece of information that you are going to be needing is the Open of the candle(H1+) and the Current price of the pair you are working with. You do not need to be a rocket scientist to get these piece on info from your charts. Have a look at the screenshot below.

So what we need to do is the following

Get the pips number which we are going to use to work out our calculations for the order placement. We do this by taking the current price of the pair and multiply it by 10. In our example the current price of the EURUSD as 1.4700 so we take it and multiple it by 10 (1.4700 x 10 = 14.7) and we get 14 pips. We round all the numbers. So 14 pips will be the number we are going to work with.
We need to determine the the prices where we will place the pending buy and sell orders. First we take the number of pips we got above and we multiple it by 2 (14 x 2) and we get 28 pips. Now the orders that we are going to place should be 28pips away from the current price. So the pending BUY order will be 1.4700 + 28pips = 1.4728 and our pending SELL order will be at 1.4700 - 28pips = 1.4672
Now to determine the StopLoss level, the stoploss levels should be 28pips (14pips x 2) from the Opening of the candle we are working with. In our example above, the StopLoss for the Buy order is 1.4707(open) - 28pips = 1.4679 and the StopLoss for the Sell order is 1.4707(open) + 28 pips = 1.4735
For the Takeprofit, we take the Current price and multiple it by 100, therefore, as per our example, our takeprofit is 1.4700 x 100 = 147 pips.
To calculate the Trailing Stop value, we use the following formula 28 pips + (14 pips/2) = 35 pips. This is the trailing stop that we are going to use.As you can see, this system is indeed very easy to understand and apply. It does not take into consideration in which direction the market is going. Whatever the direction the market takes, we are going to make some profit or at least breakeven on our trades. I wish you best of luck on this one. Late Entries is widely disregarded problem but it does affect your trading negatively. There is no doubt on this. When using indicators in your trading, you will be getting the 'Late Entries' problems most of the time because most indicators are price driven... which simply means that price should move first before the indicator can move... Therefore, what we will see is a lag between the indicator and the price.. In some indicators the lag is minimal while in others, the lag is noticeable... worst scenario comes when the indicator lags and repaints as well... this is another issue.
Firstly, let me write a little what is meant by late entries... late entries is simple entering a trade late. We have tops and bottoms or Highs and Lows and late entries are entries which are triggered around the middle of the top to the bottom or vice versa. Late entries is almost unavoidable when using indicators, however, if we can be a little less late in our trades, it is always in our favor... Let me explain..
Normally, when you enter late into the market, the main drawback is that the price has already made some moves in quite some pips which you could have booked. Now, the more the price moved, the more our Risk versus Reward ration decreases. So, when a trading system has the problem of late entries, it will eventually turn the trading system into a POOR RISK/REWARD system... meaning, you could be risking 2x to make 1x profit... Since most of the time, our stoploss are better and safer at recent swing highs and lows, the more the price has already moved from this recent swing, the more our risk increases as our stoploss will be further from our entry and at the same time, our takeprofit will be nearer to the entry.
So, when developping ones trading system, you should pay close attention to the late entries problem and if your signals make you enter late in the market, you should revise your methodology. I am delighted to present to you the Super Bounce20 Trading System. A really cool trading method which corrects one of the most notorious weakness of 99% other trading systems which is nothing but 'Late Entries' in your trades. For any system which uses indicators to generate trade signals, there is always the problem of 'late entries' associated with them. Hopefully, this trading system, which is not a new one and which does not use fancy indicators etc, is here to correct this problem. If you have been neglecting the problem of late entries till now, please take some time to read this separate post which talks about this particular problem and how it affects one trading system, so drastically that it can turn a winning system into a losing one. I suggest you read this post which I wrote about this problem. Follow this link please.

Now, after the overview, let me talk about the Super Bounce20 Trading System. The system consists of only 2 indicators, the MACD which is the primary indicator and the Simple Moving Average(SMA) which is our secondary indicator, we use 2 moving averages in our system.

Setup your charts as follows:

Open your chart to any timeframe (M15 and above preferred)
Place the MACD indicator on the chart with the default settings
Place a Simple Moving Average, color BLUE and Period 20 on close
Place another Simple Moving Average, color RED and Period 5 on close
If you want to go quicker, download the template at the end of this post and apply it on your metatrader chart. You won't be having to place the indicators manually one by one.

The signal generation method of this trading system is in three steps and I will be writing on each steps in details here. I will also post a screenshot at the end as well as some trade examples so that everything written could be summarized in these screenshots. You should read the text again and refer to the picture so that you can get a clearer idea of the system. A picture is worth a thousand words but we still need the words...

Step 1 - MACD gives the early signal

The MACD is the first to give a signal in this trading system. We will take a BUY example for all the explanation and for the sell, you just have to reverse and do the opposite. This is not rocket science for anyone to do. So, in order to generate a valid BUY setup, the MACD needs to be below 0 line... Let me number the process for you

MACD should be below 0 line
MACD histogram (bar) should start moving away from the Signal Line(RED), therefore start to decrease in height.
Look at the following screenshot to get the pictorial meaning of what I am saying.

Pretty easy I guess...Anyone can spot this on any chart and as I am saying it again, it is not rocket science to do that. For a SELL situation, you just have to reverse the RULES which is, MACD should already be above the 0 line and the MACD bar(histogram) should start moving away from the red signal line and decreasing.

As we have seen, this is the very first signal for this trading method and we should not be looking at anything else unless the MACD give us the permission by showing the very first signal. Now we move to the next step.

Step 2 - The BOUNCE on the SMA 20

After we have a valid first signal from the MACD, its a go to look for the next signal in order to determine our trade signal and decision. Now we look at the price (candlesticks or bar chart) closely... You should notice that as soon as MACD will give the first signal, price will start to move into that direction.... In our example, price start to move up BUT... it should BOUNCE off the SMA 20 (BLUE) and retrace a little downward... This BOUNCE is out 2nd signal... Look at the screenshot for a better idea on this

As you can see above, after the MACD gave the first signal, the price started going up but when it went past the SMA20, it stops and reverse a little... This is called a bounce... We can say that price bounced off the SMA20... This will be our second signal and we have a final step which is the entry... Please note that for a SELL situation, price would try to go down and bounce on the SMA20, then go up a little before going down again... Lets look at our last step now

Final Step - The entry

After price has successfully bounced off the SMA 20(blue), we can see that is is going in the opposite direction for a while and it is called a retracement. Now we wait for the price to go past the SMA 5(RED)... When the price goes past it and closes below the SMA 5, we open our position at this close... Sometimes price will not close beyond the SMA 5 and will just make a shoot(candlestick tail), we can enter on a shoot as well. This final step is our entry. So, let us look at all these three steps on a single screenshot, please observe closely.

As you can see above, all the rules has been summed up in this picture and the steps are well illustrated and numbered. Again, please keep in mind that we are taking a BUY signal as example and for a SELL, you just have to reverse the rules and do the opposite. I cannot write so much on the SELL as well because it is too easy to figure out.

Final Words

This system is very promising and there is no more late entries with it. The pips you would ahve left on the table with other trading systems, you can catch them with the Super Bounce20 Trading Method. Do not underestimate this forex trading system due to its simplicity... Simplicity is the strength of this system... Give it a try and you will not regret wasting your time. My thanks goes to the guy who originally come up with this trading system. I do not know him personally. If he ever read this, I would be delighted if he left a comment.

Something that helped me immeasurably in my trading was this.Having a real trigger as when to get in and when to get out of a trade.There are all kinds of "lines" "cross overs" but I am the type of personthat likes to have a definate ENTRY POINT not something that can be viewedfrom 5 different angles.So here it is ....I only trade off of 4hr, daily chart.Daily chart for trend direction.4 hr for actual entry point - sometimes I will go down to 1 hr but that is only sometimes.As long as you have 4 hr and daily chart up you'll do good.I am not providing a actual method to trade rather a couple of things you can add to your method already that will fine tune it and make it much more exact.Here it is .....1. Heikin Ashi candles a MUST2. 5 period LWMA offset (shift) by 2 Linear weighted moving average = LWMAAdd the LWMA to typical price h/l/c/3In meta trader you will understand this set up of configuration.You can view the pics I posted to see the relation of the candles to the5 lwma. This is what I use as my trigger to get into and out of trades andstill after all these 3.5 years of trading it's the only thing I have come acrossthat is exact enough for me to be able to trade with precision entry and exits.I hope it helps you.
